Cheddar Neighbourhood Plan public consultation

Cheddar Parish Council is holding a two day public consultation event on its draft Neighbourhood Plan at Hannah More Cottage, Lower North Street, Cheddar on Friday 30th September 3.00-8.00pm and Saturday 1st October 10.00am-3.00pm.
The draft plan is the result of several years’ work by the Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group, involving consultation with local residents and businesses at every stage. Its aim is to deliver the aspirations of the local community on future development in the parish up to 2027.
Chair of the Steering Group, Councillor Lyn Goodfellow said
“The plan is being produced by the people of Cheddar for the benefit of the people of Cheddar. As such it is different from Sedgemoor District Council’s Local Plan, on which they consulted recently, and it is a real opportunity for residents to influence SDC and the way in which Cheddar is developed.”
All members of the community are invited to come to the event and parish councillors will be on hand to explain the proposed policies. Residents then have until 6th November to make their comments before it is submitted to an independent planning examiner.
The proposed Neighbourhood Plan policies and all the supporting evidence documents, as well as the comments forms, can be found at www.cheddarplan.co.uk.
The consultation is open from 26th September to 6th November 2016 for online responses. Response forms will be available at the event, in the library and from the parish council office, as well as online at www.cheddarplan.co.uk.
