If there is any aspect of living or working in Cheddar you would like to see improved, don’t just sit and grumble or fire off letters to the parish council or local papers. This might help you vent your frustration and create awareness of local concerns, but to get real results – come along and get involved, put your points across in person, and meet some new people in the process. Find out how others feel and perhaps see how a bit of collaboration and compromise could get everyone pulling in the same direction. All ages are welcome and we could certainly do with some younger members of the village on board too. A big part of My Cheddar will be making sure we organise some “fun stuff” along with the less glamorous work!
Getting involved means that as well as helping you feel good by supporting local initiatives where you live, you can make new friends and business contacts too.
Whether you are someone who doesn’t currently get involved in community matters, or whether you are already busy with Lions, Scouts, junior football, Cheddar Youth Trust or any number of other local groups, it will be great to have you on board. The more connections we have the better the chance of being able to find people who can help with individual projects.
Finally don’t forget to follow the Cheddar Village web site on Twitter for local updates (you can follow anyone’s Twitter timeline without having to send any tweets of your own if you wish).
